( ic rulebook )

Upon first entering their rooms, everyone will find one (1) tri-folded brochure on their night table. At first glance, it seems like your average informational brochure, informing guests about the motel's history, popular nearby touristic hotspots such as Arkham, R'lyeh and Dunwich, and generic rules for the safety of the community. The more you read its contents, however, the more you notice these rules are... strange.

Even more strangely, what was previously gibberish seems to have transformed into legible words as of Sunday, Week 1.

( motel rules )
  1. The number of residents sleeping in one bedroom must not exceed a quantity of five (5). More may represent a fire hazard. Do not let the fire visit you at night.

  2. Residents must be in their bedrooms before 12 AM, and must remain there until 6 AM. Do not greet the sun outside of the confines of your room.

  3. Do not consume the flesh of your fellow residents in public. The dark room is available for all your nutritional needs.

  4. Injuring or killing staff members is strictly prohibited. They are not here for your entertainment.

  5. Do not damage motel property. You will hurt its feelings.

( murders and incentives )
  1. In compliance with motel rules, at least one (1) death must occur between Thursday to Friday of each week.

  2. For each successful murder, an incentive will be offered.

  3. Residents may partner up to commit a murder, but only the one to deliver the killing blow will be considered the true culprit. All others will be considered accomplices.

  4. Your stay at the Innsmouth Motel will come to an end when there are only three (3) residents left standing.

  5. All incentives will be granted after checking out of the Innsmouth Motel.

( investigations )
  1. Following a murder, residents will be allowed one (1) day to carry out a thorough investigation.

  2. The Innsmouth Motel and its staff cannot be held responsible for any evidence destroyed during the investigation.

  3. It is suggested residents turn any physical evidence to our staff.

  4. Residents can perform an autopsy should they deem it necessary.

( trials )
  1. A trial will be hosted in the motel's Dining Hall the day following the discovery of a body.

  2. Attendance is mandatory. Staff will escort residents to the Dining Hall if necessary.

  3. Trials will begin at noon and end at 9:00 PM. Residents must cast their vote to determine who is the culprit behind the murder.

  4. Voting for yourself will skew results and punishment may be deemed fit if a repeated offense.

  5. Anyone who receives a majority vote will be executed, regardless of whether they are guilty or not.

  6. Individuals who fail to vote within the time limit will be subject to removal from the compound

( executions )
  1. Executions will be held the day following a trial.

  2. A list of suggested executioners will be provided at the end of each trial. It is up to the surviving residents to determine who will carry out the execution.

  3. This vote is optional.

  4. It is the executioner's duty to put down whoever received the majority vote. Failure to comply will result in immediate punishment.

(... The remaining fold seems to be blank on all other brochures. Strange waste of space, isn't it?)
