[As with the last time, preparations are made and blood is slathered into Emily's hands and forehead. When she is instructed to sit down in front of the white basin, she will find a pair of eyes staring back at her. The optic membrane is still attached, rapidly drying blood staining the porcelain.

Strangely enough, they're the same color Omega's eyes used to be.

Craftly will stick around in case his assistance is needed, but won't participate in the conversation. Though neither Omega nor Emily will be able to see each other, they will still be able to hear their voices as clearly as if they were speaking in person. Now, it's up to the Medium to initiate the conversation.]

[Wow. Here she is again, slathered in blood and... making eye contact with a pair of eyeballs in a bowl.] ...Hello?

We didn't talk before. I'm Emily. My special role is to talk to the people who died.

[intolerable]

Oh! ... Hey.

[ This is strange, to say the least. ]

Yup, that's me. Super duper dead. Or at least I think so... I feel pretty alive where I'm at. Sorta.

-- Anyway, let's not let this go to waste! What do you need?

Um. [Lord, help her.] Everyone thought you tried to stop the Ghost. They think you killed yourself. So we wanted to talk to you about the Ghost. Or maybe what happened.

The Innkeeper says the Ghost isn't really a ghost. So maybe you saw them first.

[intolerable]

I didn't...

Here's the story: Craftly made me a deal. He said the playing field would be leveled for all future trials when it came to the ghost. That their involvement would be made known. He said as long as I killed someone, this would be true. I looked everywhere for the ghost that week... I tried listening against doors and eavesdropping people in isolated locations, but no matter what I did, I couldn't uncover their identity.

When it came time to produce a body, I didn't want an execution. I decided to go out on my own terms, right in front of Craftly.

So here's the truth: I did kill myself. Craftly got his body when I did that, so you guys have nothing to fear from the ghost. They might not want to kill again with such a huge target on their back.

But... don't give up trying to find them anyway. Send them down here where me and the rest of my roommates can give them a good beating up.

Oh. [Well, that makes sense to Emily at least.] We'll keep looking for the Ghost. We're trying to find a way home too. But...

Dave died. He had a special key to go in rooms. I don't know what we'll do now.

Is... Dave there yet? In the ghost place with you.

[intolerable]

He's down here, yeah. I haven't talked to him yet, but you'll be able to talk to him next week, yeah? I imagine whatever he has to say about coming down here early must be interesting.

Hey, hey. Chin up. You guys can do it, alright? I'm already working on a way out of here on my own. I wanna get us out of here before the belly of the beast does.

[empireofrats]

[There's a bit of a smile in her voice; weak, but there.] Yes. I'll talk to him next week. [Unless something more pressing comes up, so...] If I don't--please tell him that... I hope he's okay. And we miss him.

And Dirk may beat him up later for getting into trouble.

[She pauses to think.]

Um. Did you know anyone else's special roles?

[intolerable]

I was told my roommate's special role, but he didn't prove it to me.

[ a beat ]

-- Wait, Andersen. Did he come back alive?! He's not down here at all! He's okay, right? I didn't get to say goodbye...

[Emily furrows her brows. Andersen?]

He's not in the dead place? [Oh...] I don't think he's here. But... There's... a bowl of teeth in the lobby... They are the teeth in the front. I asked the Innkeeper if I had to take the bowl to use it to talk to a ghost, but he said the teeth are from someone alive.

Do you think... they're Andersen's teeth?

[intolerable]

I... I don't know, okay? In any case, you should look for people missing their teeth. I'll give Dave a hug for you and everything. The teeth might be a clue.

If you do see Andersen, he's someone you can trust. He told me his role and everything. Tell him I'm sorry for dying like that and that the dead are still sort of alive. We're just in a goopy other-world right now, but we're all lucid and we've got bodies and if there's a way to pull us out, start looking.

Okay. If we find him, I'll tell him. Jay said no one here was missing their teeth.

What was his role? Or... can he hide with his role? I don't think I've seen him, but there's a lot of people. Maybe I missed him. I can ask everyone else.

[intolerable]

He was the Private Eye, which means he had a tape recorder stashed somewhere. I don't think he could have necessarily hidden with it.

If he dies, then the recorder would disappear. That's what the Innkeeper said. But if he's alive... then maybe we can find it.

Okay. I'll tell the others... and we can search for him if he's not in the ghost place with you. [She pauses.] Thank you. For the help.

That's right. The recorder is invaluable for investigating. I was just stuck with some stupid keys, but if we can overhear some people scheming, we might be able to do something about it. The less dead the better, right?

You have an important job. And since I don't think anyone will leap to kill the ten year old, it's even more important. We're going to share information down here until your next time talking to us. We'll be sure to tell you lots then!

Okay. That's a good idea.

The Innkeeper said finding a killer isn't important. He wouldn't say what was important, though. So we're looking for something else. Or other roles.

Just not bad ones. Well, we're looking for bad ones, but not to be friends.

Hmmm...

Finding a killer isn't important, yeah? I'll tell Dave that and we'll think on it together. If we have any clues to find down here, we'll write them on the wall or on your arm, okay? Do you have anyone you can trust?

Okay.

Yes. Dave knows them. Dirk, Violet, and Clementine. I also have a notebook. I don't know if ghosts can write in notebooks, but I have one.
