On Sunday night, as soon as the grandfather clocks mark 6:00, a voice will speak to you. The tone may vary from person to person, the voice's pitch shifting and changing to suit her facilitators's needs — but the words will remain the same. Similarly for all those who can hear it, they'll suddenly find themselves captivated by it. "Come now, little ones. It's time to partake." And just like that, you find yourself drawn towards the nearest mirrored surface on the wall, somehow managing to avoid calling the attention of anyone who might be in the room with you. Though this is your first time participating in the ritual, knowledge still floods your mind. A light press of your hand against the mirror, and you will find yourself capable of stepping through the previously solid surface and into the shrine room. Here, you find yourself accompanied by two (2) other individuals. And though your handler can't be physically among you, you still feel her presence enveloping you and saturating the air in this room. Glance up, and through the glass ceiling you'll be able to see her in all her glory. It seems it's time for this week's sacrifice to be chosen. My question is why target Akane, and make it easier for her to die? She hasn't exactly done much to stand out. Someone might be holding a grudge against her, but... well it's just speculation, but it might be a trap too.

[disinterested]

That's possible. Personally, I have no grudge against her [he says as if he has a grudge against anyone] so I'm happy to spare her this week, if we'd rather avoid the possibility of a trap.

[perceptions]

Yeah, I rather keep her alive for now. I don't think I told either of you yet - Akane and I actually know each other.

Now don't get me wrong, I don't have any sentimentality toward her. But I don't know if she's told anyone else yet about our connection. If she dies, there might be a chance of it coming back toward me. I want to avoid that.

[disinterested]

Ah, right. You two were talking about your... respective boyfriends during the trial?

[He nods.]

Well, unless Tsurugi has a burning desire to kill her, I suppose that's a veto against Akane.

[perceptions]

Yeah. [A beat.] I actually killed both of them. She doesn't know that though.

We'll just figure out something else. The Teacher might suspect we know about their selections if we off Akane anyway.

[disinterested]

Well then. That escalated.

Mm. Besides, we don't want the Teacher getting too confident that we'll always kill off whomever they choose.

[perceptions]

To be fair, it wasn't my idea to off either of them! I just followed through what was started. This isn't my first time getting stuck in one of these games.

Anyway we'll figure something else out. At least we don't have to frame anyone.

I'm letting you boys get first pick for the record. Since I selected Hana, I figure you guys should have some fun too.

[disinterested]

Oh? How generous of you.

I suppose we ought to listen to our superior and pick a "Sacrifice" who hasn't played their part. Who's been quiet so far?

[perceptions]

Dunno. I don't really pay attention to those things.

[disinterested]

Neither have I. As punishable not-mingling seems to be here, I can't say I'm not guilty of it.
