( PROPHETS - WEEK 3 )

On Sunday night, as soon as the grandfather clocks mark 6:00, a voice will speak to you. The tone may vary from person to person, the voice's pitch shifting and changing to suit her facilitators's needs — but the words will remain the same. Similarly for all those who can hear it, they'll suddenly find themselves captivated by it. "Come now, little ones. It's time to partake." And just like that, you find yourself drawn towards the nearest mirrored surface on the wall, somehow managing to avoid calling the attention of anyone who might be in the room with you. Though this is your first time participating in the ritual, knowledge still floods your mind. A light press of your hand against the mirror, and you will find yourself capable of stepping through the previously solid surface and into the shrine room. Here, you find yourself accompanied by two (2) other individuals. And though your handler can't be physically among you, you still feel her presence enveloping you and saturating the air in this room. Glance up, and through the glass ceiling you'll be able to see her in all her glory. It seems it's time for this week's sacrifice to be chosen. I think you missed an opportunity with Hibiki. Should have put him in a more bizarre position for his body to be found in.

I reaaaally wanted to put him in the bar, but something came up! Or the pool...? But I don't really like pools, so I wanted to avoid that. I didn't really expect to get into a full on fight with him so it took up some precious time...

Right, because of Omega. The pool I guess was because Akane was constantly in it for most of Thursday. [She puts a hand to her hip and sighs.] I wonder what to make of Velvet being targeted by the Teacher. Her and Akane both... I wish I knew if the Teacher was on our side or not.

The fact that other people are killing besides us is pretty weird, isn't it? I wonder why...

If we can find this teacher maybe we can talk to them! But that would also risk exposing ourselves if we do ever find their identity...

I don't think it's weird. We're facilitators to ensure the ritual is complete, but that doesn't necessarily mean we're the only ones who have a motivation to go through with killing. We can use it to our advantage frankly.

[Because if not for Kamui, Tsurugi would likely be dead now.]

Yeah I agree. It's too risky to trust people who aren't in our group. You never know who will try to get rid of you - people are surely forming alliances.

Hmm, fair enough! They're definitely making our job easier... I can't wait for that sweet paycheck after this.

I think the three of us is enough, I still don't know whether to trust the teacher or not... But maybe checking out Velvet might give us some insight? If we're truly curious.

What do you mean by checking out? As in killing her?

Yep! I mean, what's the point of keep wondering if we never take the first step and check it out or something..?

Also we can do it next week too if you have plans since it looks like the teacher picks some unlucky guy every week.

Hm... I mean if you're curious then why not? I figure I'll make them so distracted, they probably wouldn't care whatever happened to Velvet. But, Tsurugi, you've already drawn some attention to yourself. I'm worried they might observe you with scrutiny.

As much as I want to, I think ... I shouldn't get hurt anymore this week so they know I'm a good boy! I'll lay low this week.

They may not be aware of the Prophets' existence, specifically. They could just believe that they're making the kill easier for anyone who chooses to carry one out that week.

Seeing as how our complete victory would require their death, I wouldn't see them as liking us very much.

[perceptions]

True. But, it seems odd. The Teacher can either make someone's odds of survival better or worse... and two weeks now they are making it worse. That spells bad intentions.

[disinterested]

Mm-hmm. In other words, we can eliminate any do-gooders from the list of candidates, and assume that the Teacher likely intends to be among the last few standing no matter the cost.

[perceptions]

Exactly. It eliminates a good chunk of potential candidates. Of course they might always target one of us. It seems so far they're going for people with more of a presence.
