For this week, there will be no sudden loss of control for those who have signed their souls away for the greater good. As long as they're in the Curio Shop by 6:05 PM on Monday, nothing out of the ordinary will happen. All they must do is knock on the shop's door, carefully as if to not draw attention towards themselves, and the door will creak open by itself much like the previous week.

As per usual, inside this strange room they'll find Craftly seated at a round table. Shelves of antiques line the walls and the smell of peppermint tea wafts through the air. A thin tendril slips across the table from Craftly's sleeve, hooking around his cup of tea. As smug as ever, he smiles to the group.

"Come in, Hunters. It's time for us to begin".

Welcome, Hunters! As of this week, you'll get the chance to either investigate one other character or arm them with a randomized weapon. If you have any questions, you can shoot us a quick PP or PM as always!

[ he raises an eyebrow at the mention of akira, glancing at yukina. ]

Right. Also, regarding Dipper's role... He said that there are portals in the mirrors of our bedrooms. The mirror in the lobby is one as well. Craftly more or less said that we shouldn't worry about those in terms of the players in this game, which frankly I still find concerning?

...why Akira-san?

[SHE DOESN'T GET IT. Like. At all. He seems nice, to her?

Not so nice, though, is the mirrors. Her expression contorts in a grimace and she shakes her head.] I don't like the sound of that, either. What would happen if we broke them?

[WAVES. A HAND. because that suggestion was half serious, half in jest, and the mirrors is a little more concerning right now???]

Dave told me he was able to confirm that we're here through, uh. "Dimensional travel." D'you think those mirrors could be related to that?

'Cause if so, maybe they're our ticket outta here.

[ he shrugs. ]

I'm not sure, but-- oh! [ he digs through his pocket, pulling out a semi-decent drawn version of this. dipper told him to burn it immediately but jay had to show it to the others first. ]

Apparently they lead to here.

[She leans in to get a better look at the drawing.]

Wherever... "there" is. [Her brows furrow and she tilts her head to one side.] There has to be... some reason, right? Even if we as... players in the game, aren't meant to use them, they aren't there just for decoration.

[also leaning in to peer at the drawing]

. . . not to mention there's a whole role in this game dedicated to finding secrets like this.

I think those portals are worth investigating, for sure.

[ he nods. ]

I'll let the two of you know what else he discovers.

[ there's a bit of a pause before he says his next thing. ]

I also think that if we should learn anything between our meetings on Monday and Thursday, we should tell at least one of us what it is. There's always the chance that we might be targeted and killed, and don't want to lose any information that'll help the survivors. Kind of like when Yukina found us all last week.

That's a good idea.

[Even if it is just because he wants to make sure the information survives, even if they don't -

But, no, she doesn't want to think like that. No matter how many times she tells herself that Kaito and Jay are trustworthy, though, she can't get rid of that small, nagging doubt.

Yukina sort of hates that she's looking forward to Friday, if only so this will stop.]

I'm meeting with Kaiba-san and Light-san before curfew tonight. If I learn anything important from them, I'll let you two know tomorrow, when we...

[She hesitates.]

...are we still going to check out the library?

And I want to, if you guys are still willing. Tomorrow, right? But before that, uh.

A picture of a cat sitting on a copier appeared in Dave and my room earlier this morning. [SHRUGS???] I'm pretty sure it's related to the Copycat role somehow, but 'm not sure how. And I promised Dave I wouldn't tell anyone else about it-- [a twinge of guilt, a spike of some paranoia of his own, what if Dave finds out I betrayed his trust] -- so. . . be careful with that information.

I'm willing to go tomorrow as well. Yukina, do you need a weapon for it?

[ he is... uncomfortable with giving her one, because of the paranoia, but he ignores it. it'll be better if she's armed.

the mention about the copycat is alarming. ]

... So someone either now has a skeleton key or a gun.

I have a scalpel, but...

[What use will a scalpel be against a horrorterror?]

I'd appreciate it, if you... wouldn't mind.

[There's something in her voice that indicates she knows exactly why he might mind.

She bites her lip as she mulls over what the news about the Copycat might mean.]

...I guess we'll just... have to wait and see. If we find out the Copycat's role by what we do here, do you think it would tell us what that person copied?

. . . I dunno. But. . .

Dave said he had a feeling that even if it was the Copycat, things would be okay. Like. . . I asked him if he knew who the Copycat was, and he wouldn't say if he did or not, but he seemed pretty confident. Y'know?

I trust him.

[he trusts him, but despite that, still hasn't told him about the Hunters. that pang of guilt worsens, and he can't help but wonder, however briefly, if Dave would betray him if he found out what kind of secrets Kaito was keeping]

Unless it comes up during the trial this weekend, it may not be anythin' we've gotta worry about.

[ it's okay kaito you don't have to worry about keeping the hunters a secret from dave anymore!!

jay... is not as convinced as kaito is, partly because he doesn't know dave as well as him. and partly because it's hard to trust anyone that completely at the moment. or, as "completely" as you can get in a game where you're pitted against one another like this. ]

We'll see then. And Yukina, I'll lend you the knife I got from the kitchen. It'll probably be more comfortable than the cleaver.

[ he... glances back at the bowl and instructional drawing. ]

Shall we vote for Kaiba then?

[She doesn't distrust Dave, not really. She doesn't distrust Kaito either. But secondhand information doesn't really sit right with her right now (nor does anything else), and so she doesn't look as comforted as she might otherwise.]

...I hope he's right.

[Not that hope accounts for much here.]

And... thank you, Jay-san. I'll take it once we get to the library.

[She doesn't expect him to let her have it early - she wouldn't, if she was him.]

I think... that would be for the best.

Yeah.

Let's get it over with.

[so they can talk about what to do next, and also exit this room and see wtf exactly happened outside]
