For this week, there will be no sudden loss of control for those who have signed their souls away for the greater good. As long as they're in the Curio Shop by 6:05 PM on Monday, nothing out of the ordinary will happen. All they must do is knock on the shop's door, carefully as if to not draw attention towards themselves, and the door will creak open by itself much like the previous week. As per usual, inside this strange room they'll find Craftly seated at a round table. Shelves of antiques line the walls and the smell of peppermint tea wafts through the air. A thin tendril slips across the table from Craftly's sleeve, hooking around his cup of tea. As smug as ever, he smiles to the group. "Come in, Hunters. It's time for us to begin". All right. We're unanimous. Which brings me to my second point--

[jerks a thumb at Jay BECAUSE WE'RE ASSUMING THIS IS AFTER THE EYES HAVE BEEN REMOVED. . .]

Based on what Craftly said, and the notes we exchanged with them earlier today, I think we need to assume the Prophets know who we are. What are we gonna do about that?

Their notes did call us "children"... at first I thought it was just them talking down to us, but it could mean something else if they actually know our identities.

[ he's quiet, and then he bows his head. ]

I'm sorry to you both. I was careless and brought this upon us.

I thought... They might have been trying to make Craftly-san look suspicious. Since he calls us that...

[She shakes her head at Jay's apology, though.]

It is not your fault. You couldn't have known what would happen when you were bitten... None of us could.

The important thing is that we're careful moving forward. We should minimize the risks we take as best we can, and... Maybe stay together every Thursday night from now on. I don't think they could kill all of us at once.

It would also explain why they said we have more to fear from ourselves than we do of them.

[exhales deeply. they really fucked up]

We made a mistake, going into the library together. So it isn't your fault at all, Jay. Don't blame yourself.

All we can do is tread carefully from here on out, and do our best to find a Prophet as soon as possible.

[ all of that is true, but it won't make jay stop feeling like shit. he will nod his head though. ]

Even if they don't know exactly who we are, they should know enough to have an easier time finding us out. We may have to reach out to the people who we have definitely cleared to be Sacrifices.

...yes. I think that would be a good idea.

[What else can they do? They can't out themselves to the group at large, but...]

We need allies. Especially since... the Prophets have gotten the upper hand.

[mmmm. he looks a little uncertain, but he can't deny that what Jay and Yukina say is true]

The only ones we know are clear are Light and Kaiba. And can we trust them not to accidentally blab that information to a Prophet in hiding?

I think if they were made aware of how very important it is that they don't tell anyone... But Yukina, you talk to them the most. What do you think?

[ she would know them better than they do. ]

...Kaiba-san was furious to hear about... the ritual. I think he would be willing to help us end it. [She hesitates.] He... wants the Prophets dead, though. And anyone responsible for our being here.

As for Light-san... he seems eager to... [Rrr.] Use his power in a "productive" way. ...I don't think he would tell.

[considers what she says for a moment, before he nods]

Okay.

If you trust them to keep this secret close to their hearts, if you trust them to trust us after explaining what it is we're trying to do. . . then I'm okay with letting them in on our secret.

But I think all three of us should be there when we do.

Right. We don't have to give them too many details though, so what we do here won't be in too much risk.

[ the more he thinks about the prophets' notes, the more worried he gets. the three of them were already certain that one of them would get targeted this week because of the trial. jay's positive that it'll happen for sure now. ]

...I'm meeting them tonight. If the two of you wanted to do that sooner rather than later... I can take them to come find you once we're finished talking.

Tonight is fine with me, honestly.
