( THE TEACHER )
![]() It is midnight on Tuesday when you find yourself suddenly awake. Your roommate, should they still be alive, is blissfully asleep as your body moves on its own and heads to the outdoor pool and dining area. The smell of cooked meat invades your senses as you approach, and once you are close enough, you'll find Craftly enjoying a beautifully prepared meal. Across from him, another identical plate sits, waiting for you to dig in. Craftly raises his cup, filled to the brim with wine, and beckons you to sit down. "Greetings, Teacher." It seems like it is finally time for the two of you to have a conversation. Welcome, Teacher! As you must know by now, your character has the chance to either protect one (1) character or hang them out to dry. This is an either/or situation, so you can only pick one no matter how much your character may want to do otherwise. To summarize the key aspects from this role's rulebook:
New top levels will be created in this post for each passing week. We hope you have fun with your role! ic rulebook | locations | statuses | room assignments private conversations | ic profiles | graveyard | full navigation |

WEEK 3

He crosses his arms, not touching his food just yet.]
...If someone's protected from danger, exactly how does this manifest?
[Hi Craftly-san.]
no subject
[ He's enjoying his roasted potatoes but mostly his wine. Let him live. ]
Just like with Akane, I can't disclose much. However, it is of the inner workings of the game that what the rule states, will be reality. Whomever you choose will avoid a terrible fate, don't sully yourself with the details.

I just want to know if this will be an observable change, or merely strengthen someone's mental fortitude. And if it can be... reversed, with a simple dip in a pool.
[Pointed look at Craftly and his wine glass. Wino.]
Or can you not tell me that, either?
no subject
[ He nods, clanking his fork and knife against the plate as he cuts into his meal. ]
Does that suffice?
no subject
[Not exactly reassuring (Light didn't ask to be reassured), but good to know.]
All right. [He reaches for the fork and knife, and starts skewering his food.] Then I'll protect someone this time. Young Emily Kaldwin.

[ He does chew thoughtfully. ]
The longer this game ticks on, the more the children appeal those desperate for those precious 3 slots. Are you going to add "babysitting" to your profile card as well?
no subject
[He sounds almost offended.]
You think I'm choosing her out of some wayward sentimentality? A child doesn't deserve to be here, but she is, and therefore she's just in as much danger as the rest of us. A sad fact, but no point in tailoring my own actions based on her situation alone.
[cold much?]
Yes, I'm choosing her because she's a child, but only because everyone will throw a fit if or when something happens to her. The results of my choosing her will become more transparent that way, one way or another. Also, there's a matter of keeping up appearances.
no subject
"Keeping up appearances". Interesting for the concept of only knowing of your role on paper and not practice. Unless —
[ A grim smile. ]
Have you been compromised, Mister Yagami?
no subject
By an ally.
[The paranoia worked against him this week, that's for certain.]
But I can still make this work to my advantage.

Her curiosity is no concern of mine. Only if she manages to escape harm as a consequence of it.

[ They finally stopped showing off to one another. ]
