( THE TEACHER )
![]() It is midnight on Tuesday when you find yourself suddenly awake. Your roommate, should they still be alive, is blissfully asleep as your body moves on its own and heads to the outdoor pool and dining area. The smell of cooked meat invades your senses as you approach, and once you are close enough, you'll find Craftly enjoying a beautifully prepared meal. Across from him, another identical plate sits, waiting for you to dig in. Craftly raises his cup, filled to the brim with wine, and beckons you to sit down. "Greetings, Teacher." It seems like it is finally time for the two of you to have a conversation. Welcome, Teacher! As you must know by now, your character has the chance to either protect one (1) character or hang them out to dry. This is an either/or situation, so you can only pick one no matter how much your character may want to do otherwise. To summarize the key aspects from this role's rulebook:
New top levels will be created in this post for each passing week. We hope you have fun with your role! ic rulebook | locations | statuses | room assignments private conversations | ic profiles | graveyard | full navigation |

Oh? You're a conundrum that undoubtedly adds such a spiciness to this game. My employers must be thrilled.
[ A pause. He's not eating :/ ]
Whom?

He is also not going to eat clam chowder. How fucking spoiled are these two.]
I've always told you, Craftly-san. I'm malleable. My loyalties are to myself, and what I think might be the fastest, most efficient way to put an end to this game so that I can return home to my own agenda. If this changes, then so does my alignment. I hope this doesn't make you think any lesser of me.
[He crinkles the wrapper a bit, before tossing it onto the table.]
Kaito Kuroba. The Hunters need all the help they can get at this point. [Not that he sounds particularly...thrilled about this.]

[ He huffs a laugh. ]
And the spiciness continues. So, you know of the Hunters...
[ He smiles with a vague, tired grin. He's choosing his next words carefully. ]
He will be protected, then.

I know of them. They came to me, wanting my aid. Because they trust me, I think.
[Trust is something easily misplaced, but Light thus far has been willing to work with since they showed competence. However, their refusal to adjust their moralities has been less than satisfactory, but he shouldn't be surprised. Even competence threatens to be... questionable, after last trial.]
They're fighting a losing battle. I'm not sure to feel about that. Last week... five bodies. What a joke.

[ little asshole chit chat ]
Five bodies were impressive but that's part of the game. An unavoidable aspect, in all actuality. So you've aligned yourself with them and their cause - but is it pity or faith that keeps you "loyal" for the time being?

[He leans forward, elbow on the table. Chin resting in his hand, thinking. If he had a pen, he'd spin it in his free hand -- an idle gesture.]
Neither. I don't feel pity. [At least he's cognizant of his own sociopathy... though he'd paint it more as someone having bigger matters to deal with than an actual flaw.] And loyalty is only there for as long as the people I'm working with are useful.
...This game is constantly shifting, you know. What I would give to see its outcome, right here and now.
