( WEEK ONE - HUNTERS )
![]() At exactly 6:00 PM on Monday night, something very strange will happen to you. Regardless of whatever you were doing or whatever you were planning to do, you will find yourself stopping midway. Numbness spreads from your toes to the top of your head. You feel no control of your body. Thousands of shivers roam up your nerves, controlling your limbs like strings to a limp puppet. You're aware of your body moving - out of the room and into the first floor hallway. It's not until you stop in front of the unmarked room nestled between the Kitchen and Laundry that you regain control of your body. A soft click, and the door creaks open. Inside the room you'll find a small group of people and Craftly seated at a round table. Shelves of antiques line the walls and the smell of peppermint tea wafts through the air. A thin tendril slips across the table from Craftly's sleeve, hooking around his cup of tea. As smug as ever, he smiles to you. "Come in, Hunter. It's time for us to begin". Welcome, Hunters! As you should have been told by now, you represent the "detective" faction of this game. It's your job to ICly suspect those around you and discover who belongs to the "mafia" faction before it's far too late. For this first mingle (and all others, really), we encourage your characters to get to know each other, shitpost to your heart's content, and share your personal roles. Remember to check the Hunter's Handbook for IC rules and information. We hope you have fun with your role! :) ic rulebook | locations | statuses | room assignments private conversations | ic profiles | graveyard | full navigation hunter's handbook |

This is the safest way to put a stop to this, for both you and I.

. . . I'll accept that answer for now. But if you did your research right, then you know I'm the kind of person who likes to find answers outside of the rules.
God or not.
[KAITO WHAT CAN YOU DO AGAINST A GOD???]
[but he finally pricks his thumb with the pen and presses it against the contract, with enough force to smudge his thumbprint underneath]
The last part-- [gestures to the invisible text] -- is secondary to saving people's lives.

[And just like for Yukina, Kaito's blood will light up with a golden hue on the contract before returning to its natural color.]
If you have any additional inquiries, I am here to answer them.
no subject
Sure would be, wouldn't it?
[but he sobers quickly]
I do, actually. I want to know about all of the pieces on the game board. Is everyone who isn't a Hunter or a Prophet a sacrifice?

So that's why you advised us not to trust anyone else, huh. . .
[because they'd certainly be doomed if someone told the Prophets there were people out there, you know. trying to kill them]
Was anyone else besides myself and presumably those in this room with me given a weapon and a title yesterday?

You can't tell us what those are, can you?
[he imagines the answer is "no," considering they get to investigate one person a week, but hey. never hurts to try]

This is all very-- [Lovecraftian, he almost says, before he remembers that Craftly doesn't like being compared to the author. and since Craftly is helping them out, he decides to be a little less of a brat] -- supernatural, to say the least.
[WHAT HE MEANS TO SAY, IS]
What are the Prophets, exactly? You said they were people who sacrificed humanity for power, so. . .
no subject
It is exactly as the contract says. In exchange for their soul and their services, their god will reward them with whatever their heart desires. Money, fame, power — for some, it may even be the simple thrill of killing indiscriminately.
no subject
Shouldn't be surprised there are those types of people here. Tch. They don't get any special-- [WAVES OTHER HAND] -- powers or anything by agreeing?

Gotcha.
Oh-- uh. One more thing for now. [until he thinks of something else, honestly] But those locked and burned buildings on Ponytail's maps.
[is Ponytail his nickname for Jay]
What's in them?
no subject
That, too, I am not at liberty to disclose. But be aware: This realm is ruled by equivalent exchange.
no subject
That's just vague enough to be eerily ominous, yeesh.

[SHRUG EMOJI]

'Cause I already took some sutures from the clinic.

[and a wave of his hand]
Okay. That's all I've got for now.
[a deep breath, and he folds his arms]
Here's to making sure this alliance succeeds in it's primary mission.
