( HUNTERS - WEEK 2 )

For this week, there will be no sudden loss of control for those who have signed their souls away for the greater good. As long as they're in the Curio Shop by 6:05 PM on Monday, nothing out of the ordinary will happen. All they must do is knock on the shop's door, carefully as if to not draw attention towards themselves, and the door will creak open by itself much like the previous week.

As per usual, inside this strange room they'll find Craftly seated at a round table. Shelves of antiques line the walls and the smell of peppermint tea wafts through the air. A thin tendril slips across the table from Craftly's sleeve, hooking around his cup of tea. As smug as ever, he smiles to the group.

"Come in, Hunters. It's time for us to begin".

Welcome, Hunters! As of this week, you'll get the chance to either investigate one other character or arm them with a randomized weapon. If you have any questions, you can shoot us a quick PP or PM as always!

Probably not. Maybe we'll get lucky and end up discovering who has the role by... [ he... glances at the pliers and makes a face at it. YOU KNOW. ]

If we don't find out who it is, it won't make or break us, but knowing that someone could just waltz in wherever they want isn't really something we can ignore, especially if they turn out to be a Prophet.

...maybe we'll get lucky and someone will just decide they trust one of us enough to tell us without our asking.

I hope whoever it turns out to be is... trustworthy. This is difficult enough without having to worry about someone discovering something they shouldn't.

It makes me kinda nervous to keep anything in our rooms, too.

[he. makes a face. turns away, and spits out some blood into a napkin. uuugh]

I think we just need to be careful. That's. . . all we can really do.

It's still early and there's a lot we don't know, so it makes sense for any plans we make to still be shaky at this point. We'll figure things out.

[ hopefully sooner rather than later though. ]

I think that's... probably enough, for now.

I think I know who the Medium is.

[ his head snaps towards kaito which is a Mistake, and he has to immediately set his head down against the table in pain. ]

How did you almost forget to tell us that?

...what?!

[Yukina's head does the same thing, with nearly the same result. She downs her shot and wishes for the sweet embrace of death.]

Who... how...?!

[YOU. . . YOU GUYS. . .]

. . . 'cause I'm not sure! Not 100%, anyway. It was a shot in the dark, and he didn't really confirm or deny it.

[cut him some slack omg]

But I think it's Kurusu.

[ once jay feels less like dying, he will sit back up properly. ]

Why do you think he has that role in particular though? Even if you're not entirely sure, you have to have a reason to come to that conclusion.

[Yukina considers it for a few moments. While she can't think of anything in particular that would make her think he has that role, she's... somewhat at ease with the idea? He doesn't seem like a Prophet. And if he's not one, then that means they can count on him to accurately report what the dead have to say.]

What gave you that idea...?

[leans back in his chair, wincing as another pulse of pain courses through his head]

The other day, after Jason was killed, he entered Dave's and my room to look for Jason's mask. It was kinda weird, honestly. Not something I feel like anyone would do for no reason at all.

[but that's just an assumption]

After the trial, I offered him Jason's mask again, and asked him whether mediums needed items in order to contact the dead.

He said, and I quote, "That's an interesting hypothesis. I would also say that sounds fair."

[shrugs]

Not a confirmation, nor a denial. But he took the mask, too.

That's... interesting.

[ he almost wants to ask if that's why he got like, punched? but jay will hold off on that question for now. ]

He could always just be a weirdo. It's hard to tell, unless someone spots him stealing something of Hana's?

[...that would make a lot of sense, then.]

...I don't think he's... a weirdo. He's always been very nice to me.

[She considers it for a moment or two, then her eyes light up.] But we can keep an eye on him! If he takes anything else... then it becomes more likely. Or, maybe one of us can give him something of ours and see if he says anything cryptic...?

[let her give him a gift so he can think she's flirting]

He is a weird guy.

But I think it's best if we keep an eye on him. I told him it might be nice to hear what Jason had to say from beyond the great. . . uh. Beyond. If he gets back to me with a message, I'll let you guys know.

[ he nods his head

and then stops suddenly. ]

Oh. Right, there's a trap door in the dark room.

[NOW IT IS HER TURN TO WHIP HER HEAD AROUND TO STARE AT JAY and instantly regret it. She brings a hand up to her mouth. Ow.]

Where does it lead...?

[also whips his head around to stare at Jay, and-- ow. give him a second, he's burying his face into his palm and groaning]

[Yukina asked the question he wanted to ask, so he's not going to say anything right now]

Oh, I have no clue.

[ lmao ]

Dipper is the one who told me. Unfortunately, my deal was made with the limitation that neither of us can give out our sources. So I'm not sure how he discovered this, especially considering he hasn't actually found the door yet. [ which sounds suspicious, yes ] I don't think he's lying about it though. He was pretty adamant that the door's there, and that he'll let me know as soon as he figures out how to actually get through it.

[um]

There is something really wrong with that room. If he spends his time looking around in there, he could... get really hurt. [This does not sit well with her at all. Obviously.]

If he found the trap door just by snooping around the room, then why would he wanna keep his source a secret?

The implication is that he most likely had a little help discovering this information. From what he told me, if we just went around the room looking for it, we're not going to find it. There's probably a trick to it that he hasn't figured out yet.

[ jay's so curious as to how the hell dipper figured this out it's killing him tbh ]

But I agree. He shouldn't spend too long in that room. It doesn't seem... [ he frowns. ] The problem with Dipper is that he's the kind of person to keep insisting he can handle himself.

...so telling him to be careful probably won't accomplish much...

[why!! are children!! like this!!]

If we figure out how to open the trap door first... do you think he'd stay clear of that room? Or would he just go in and try to use it...

He'd probably go in and try to use it, honestly.

[ha. . . he totally gets Dipper's type because he is ALSO the kind of person who would insist on handling things himself]

At best, I can try to convince him at least not to do it alone.

... Or do it with someone other than his sister.
