( WEEK ONE - PROPHETS )

On Sunday night, as soon as the grandfather clocks mark 6:00, a voice will speak to you. The tone may vary from person to person, the voice's pitch shifting and changing to suit her facilitators's needs — but the words will remain the same. Similarly for all those who can hear it, they'll suddenly find themselves captivated by it.

"Come now, little ones. It's time to partake."

And just like that, you find yourself drawn towards the nearest mirrored surface on the wall, somehow managing to avoid calling the attention of anyone who might be in the room with you. Though this is your first time participating in the ritual, knowledge still floods your mind. A light press of your hand against the mirror, and you will find yourself capable of stepping through the previously solid surface and into the shrine room. Here, you find yourself accompanied by two (2) other individuals. And though your handler can't be physically among you, you still feel her presence enveloping you and saturating the air in this room.

Glance up, and through the glass ceiling you'll be able to see her in all her glory.

It seems it's time for this week's sacrifice to be chosen.

Welcome, Prophets! Starting as of today, you can expect a weekly faction mingle where you will be free to shitpost, theorize, and eventually, cast your vote for whoever you will be killing this week. To summarize the key aspects from your OOC info post:
  1. A Prophet's main role is to kill at least one other person each week. This kill will need to happen between Thursday and Friday, and will count towards that week's trial.

  2. Sometimes, the Prophets will be asked to kill a person who has begun to bore the Unclean and is negatively impacting her ability to enjoy the ritual. This kill will usually happen after their faction meeting on Monday, and will not count towards that week's trial.

  3. Prophet players don't need to fill out a murder proposal for faction kills.

  4. The Prophets have access to every room inside the motel that carries a mirror or a mirrored surface, since they've been granted the power to travel through mirrors. The location descriptions will usually note if a room comes with anything of the sort, and all bedrooms carry two (2) mirrors by default. One in the main room, and another in the bathroom.

  5. Even if they die during the ritual, they'll be automatically revived at the end as long as they held up their side of the bargain (as in, actively participated during the ritual).

  6. Speaking of their side of the bargain: Whatever they've been promised in exchange for their cooperation, they'll receive once the ritual is over.

  7. This goes without saying, but just a gentle reminder. All Prophets are willing participants of the ritual, and have agreed to McMurder 39 other individuals in exchange for having their wishes granted by an eldritch abomination. You do you, Prophets.

As a reminder, you have until Tuesday, 11:59 PM EST to pick whoever you're all going to murder so you have plenty of time to plot how the kill will be carried out. Given that this is the very first week, we ask that you pick between the two mod characters listed in the Prophet Handbook, and as always — feel free to hit us up on the designated weekly faction plurk if you have any questions!

Heh...

[Girge listens to the explanation patiently, before:]

It might be best to kill Jason outside, especially if we'll be leaving his body in Hana's room afterwards. If evidence is left in his room, then it may seem odd that he was killed there but then dragged to Hana's room afterwards for no apparent reason.

After all, we don't want it to be obvious that we're framing Hana.

I agree with that assessment. [She nods.] People are going to wonder why Jason was in Hana's room at the end, but my hope is someone will consider that it makes no sense. That Jason was moved there by someone else who isn't Hana. That'd be the logical conclusion.

However, none of that will matter if Hana is the one with the blood on her hands and the piano wire. Maybe I could even make it look like she tried to break into his room with a coat hanger? Just scuff up the door a little.

Hana and Jason have no connection that we know of, correct? In that case, it doesn't seem likely they'd voluntarily meet up in the middle of the night... so yes, making it seem like she broke in would be for the best.

Well, I mean... By the end of the day they have to vote for someone, right? If they get desperate enough I think they would vote for Hana-chan anyway because she'll be the only person that apparently did something during that night...... Or something like that.

I think it'll be fine.

True, though in the long run, we'll want to avoid them catching onto any possession going on—assuming we'll be relying on Mira's "gift" again in the future.

But for now, then I agree. [a beat] Besides, it's on Mira if she gets caught.

They might think "something" happened to Hana, but it doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a role right? Maybe they'll just think Cthulu possessed her or some shit. [That is as far as her Lovecraft knowledge goes ok.] We only have to frame Hana this time because we're told to. Next time we can do something completely different. Make it more chaotic maybe.

Yeah, exactly! We gotta frame her, and we're gonna do that. Then we can just see how the rest goes. As long as nothing points to us, then it's fine~!

Ah, right. I'd forgotten that we don't have to frame anyone after this—hopefully.

[please don't make them frame anyone else, unclean, they're too lazy for this shit]

That'll make things simpler going forward.
