( WEEK ONE - HUNTERS )
![]() At exactly 6:00 PM on Monday night, something very strange will happen to you. Regardless of whatever you were doing or whatever you were planning to do, you will find yourself stopping midway. Numbness spreads from your toes to the top of your head. You feel no control of your body. Thousands of shivers roam up your nerves, controlling your limbs like strings to a limp puppet. You're aware of your body moving - out of the room and into the first floor hallway. It's not until you stop in front of the unmarked room nestled between the Kitchen and Laundry that you regain control of your body. A soft click, and the door creaks open. Inside the room you'll find a small group of people and Craftly seated at a round table. Shelves of antiques line the walls and the smell of peppermint tea wafts through the air. A thin tendril slips across the table from Craftly's sleeve, hooking around his cup of tea. As smug as ever, he smiles to you. "Come in, Hunter. It's time for us to begin". Welcome, Hunters! As you should have been told by now, you represent the "detective" faction of this game. It's your job to ICly suspect those around you and discover who belongs to the "mafia" faction before it's far too late. For this first mingle (and all others, really), we encourage your characters to get to know each other, shitpost to your heart's content, and share your personal roles. Remember to check the Hunter's Handbook for IC rules and information. We hope you have fun with your role! :) ic rulebook | locations | statuses | room assignments private conversations | ic profiles | graveyard | full navigation hunter's handbook |

[folds his hands on the table]
That said, Dave and Robin-- Jason-- seem pretty trustworthy so far. Especially Dave. We have a standing agreement to meet at least once a week to exchange information.

Ah... my roommate is Quer-san. She's a little... [Yukina hesitates, then nods to herself.] A little jumpy, but I think I may have startled her when we first met. She's not unkind, at least.
[...but what Kaito says about Dave-]
Eh? ...Dave-san and I have that sort of agreement too... I spoke with him yesterday, in fact.
no subject
[ well, in a lot more informal fashion than actual set meeting times. ]
My roommate is Jake. He's... actually one of the nicest people I've spoken to so far, which means he's either a phenomenal actor, or he truly doesn't want to kill anyone. Still, we shouldn't rule any of them out.
no subject
So in other words, he's good at networking.
[ha]
Having someone like him on our side would also be pretty helpful. And since he agreed to meet with all three of us, we can cross reference the information we get from him to make sure it's accurate.
no subject
I agree. I think he's trustworthy... but this way we can know for sure that he's telling us what he thinks is the truth, rather than what he thinks we'll want to hear.
[Because let's be real, none of them really seem to be the type that would all want the same thing, at first glance.]
...at any rate, when we spoke yesterday, he said that... three people surviving was nowhere near good enough. Even working on his own, I get the impression he wants the same thing we do.
i got busy at work rip
Three survivors out of forty-two is pretty terrible, yes. We can definitely keep an eye on him for information, but remember that he's also a potential suspect.
how dare
[3 OUT OF 42 IS LIKE 7% COME ON THAT IS A FAILING GRADE]
Right. So that's settled. Does anyone else stick out in either of your minds?
quit your job immediately (i'm sorry)
[would someone please stop her from befriending serial killers]
quits job 2 murder fulltime
[ goddamn hypocrite, but whatever. ]
Dipper is one of the small children running around. He's... to be honest, he annoys me, but he's very intent on solving things here. I can't vouch for his capabilities but we should probably keep an eye on him, even if it's just to make sure he doesn't accidentally stab himself.
everyone's dream tbh
Actually. . . I dunno how I feel about that Light guy. His card mentioned "murder" as a skill, and when I asked him about it, the explanation he came up with was pretty unsatisfactory.
[or maybe he's letting his detective biases get the best of him??? WHO KNOWS]
I agree about Dipper, though. He'd probably be a good ally, but I can envision him and his sister getting into a lot of trouble if we don't keep an eye on 'em.
if only, if only
[Maybe... she should...]
It would probably be best if we kept an eye on them in particular, and any of the other especially young children, too. Many of them seem capable, judging by their cards, but... I get the feeling those cards are meant to make us suspicious of each other, not to paint a completely accurate image of what we can and can't do.
[Hence why she still thinks Light "murder" Yagami is chill.]
I wouldn't want any of them to get in over their heads, and be hurt as a result.

[ he smiles grimly. ]
Normally, I'd like to say that people would be less likely to want to kill the children, but if these Prophets are as bloodthirsty as we've been lead to believe... I doubt that will be the case here.
Between the three of us, we should try to get to know everyone here. The more overlap the better so we can exchange notes more efficiently, but considering there's so many people to go through that probably won't be possible for every single person.

I planned on talking to Akane, Kurusu, Dave 'n Jason. I could let you guys know what they say, if ya want. It's a start.
no subject
[They will be a trio of social butterflies.]
no subject
[ he means figure out who's suspicious and also who seems like they'd be overall useless to their investigation but he keeps that insulting part to himself, whoops. ]
As for the three of us, we should be seen together to each other in public, but we shouldn't make it obvious that we're seeing each other more than other people are. We should just make it believable enough in case we ever have to defend each other in trials.
no subject
[is now the time for dumb jokes]
More seriously, we should meet each other in public one last time before our excursion next week. That way it won't look weird for us to be exploring together.
no subject
But yes, meeting again in front of other people is a good idea. Luckily, this place is small enough that it won't be difficult to make that happen.
no subject
[ listen they are definitely probably going to do slumber parties at some point, lbr. ]
Is there anything else either of you want to bring up?
no subject
No. I think we've covered everything I wanted to talk about.
no subject
[So... they should probably head back before they're missed.]
Until we see each other again... take care, all right?
no subject
[ jay's just glad that the both of them seem very competent, holy shit. ]
And if anything comes up that can't wait until the upcoming Monday to discuss, feel free to find me, okay? I'll always make time for the two of you.
